Transanal Endoscopic Microsurgery (TEMS)

Mr. Arulampalam has started his clinical TEMS programme in August  having completed the requisite training. Cases are carried out at Colchester General Hospital with patients staying overnight or on occasions for 48 hours. Results will be continuously audited and the intention is to participate in national trials of the technique.

International Society of Laparoscopic Colorectal Surgeons Meeting

The 6th annual meeting of the ISLCRS will take place at Anglia Ruskin University between 5th and 7th September. This meeting brings together the top international colorectal experts in one place. The meeting is a combination of live operating, lectures and practical hands on courses. Mr. Arulampalam is part of the organizing committee for this conference.

BBC Radio Essex

The ICENI Centre was once again the focus of media attention. On this occasion Sadie Nine, a local radio station presenter, visited the ICENI Centre in order to look at what the centre has to offer. The piece was broadcast on Friday 12th August with Mr. Arulampalam hosting Sadie at the Centre and training her in basic laparoscopy.
